What I Love

I came home from school yesterday to find my To-Do List white board completely erased with this written instead:

He then told me later on in conversation he was sad that none of our kids would have my nose because I don't even have my nose (Confused? look at the bottom of this post).

The point of this post:
I love my husband.
And he loves me.

Californ-i-a

As you all know this last weekend Erik and I went with my family to California. Erik and I can never get enough of California. We drove over on Friday and went straight to Huntington Beach for a bbq in the sand.
(Isn't my husband so cute??)

We love beach bbq's! We had weenie roasts and made s'mores. (Tip: put reese's peanut butter cups on your s'mores instead of Hershey's. Erik showed it to me our first CA weekend after his mission. It will change your life-promise)
My Grandpa Neel on the left, Grandma Neel, me, cousin Steven, dad and mom.

When you get Erik and Albert together somehow their gay side comes out. But we love them!

Some man playing wind instruments. He had a little shoulder shake and hip wiggle to go along with his Pocahontas music.

Ashley and Nick weren't able to come with us, but we still had a great time. The Neel's love the beach!

Salsa!!

I didn't think I would see Erik in the kitchen so soon after we were married but he proved me wrong. He found this really good salsa recipe in a GQ magazine and was dying to try it out.
After a few mishaps (spilling chopped onions all over his feet) we were finally able to get things right. Sorry the picture is so blurry, I'm no photographer.

It turned out to be really good and he has plans to make it all the time. Let us know if you want some!

I am a Nerd: Part 2

It all started with a pool and a slide.
As Erik and I were swimming with Erica and Albert (my sis) and Jesse and Michelle we had the brilliant idea to go down the slide as one giant train. Take one went brilliantly, but I'm afraid take two didn't go as well. I was pushed down into the water farther than what I was comfortable with, and after we pulled Erik's foot out of the back of my head it was decided I had some serious whiplash. So naturally we put a bag of frozen corn to help the pain and went to the local drugstore---aka my mom.
Two days later (Monday) I was still in pain and could hardly move my neck, so I took another pain killer which made me seriously loopy. While Erik took his daily nap he advised that I should not go anywhere because I would not be safe driving in my drunken state. So I decided to watch a movie, and it was all over from there.
It was a quick decision given that our movie collection consists of about 5 movies. I decided to watch The Lord of the Rings because:
A) Its a good movie
B) Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen are hot
C) I'm a nerd (see previous examples here and here)
Instead of the normal versions, for some odd reason (due to my husband) we only have the extended version of all 3 movies which turns out to be 4 hours a movie. So what started out as something to get over my loopiness, turned into me staying up late every night to finish watching them. It turned into me not doing my daily chores because I had to keep watching.
In conclusion to this story with no point:
I love The Lord of the Rings.
And I am a Nerd.

It's Official

We're moving.
But I won't tell you where. I don't want any stalkers on our front doorstep because that would be weird. We are moving into the same complex my sister and brother-in-law live in right now. We won't be living so close to school anymore so our bike riding days are over. Gee I'll miss that old Asian lady who almost ran me over at least 3 times.
But the good news is our rent is going to be a lot cheaper than what we're paying now. That means I can finally get my own car. Hooray! I know my family is tired of being my personal chauffeur so they are just as excited.
That is all I have for today.
So I leave this picture with you and hope you are having a good day.

Girl Crush

Now you all know that I have been happily married for over 7 months now. But I must admit, for the past few weeks I have had a girl crush. I am one of the biggest fans of So You Think You Can Dance. I already know what you are going to say: They never wear enough clothes. But me being a dancer myself I see the dancing as art, I choose to look beyond the outfits. Most dances have a story behind them, like Mia Micheal's piece on addiction or Tyce Diorio's piece on fighting breast cancer.
From the very beginning I have been in love with a certain dancer: Jeanine Mason.

She is so beautiful when she dances. She takes on whatever character she is supposed to be portraying so well. She is so passionate in her dancing, and she is a huge inspiration to dancers.
I was so extremely happy when she won last night and was titled "America's Favorite Dancer". I jumped for joy and screamed very loud for about 5 minutes. I have wanted her to win from the first episode.

I want to know who YOUR favorite dancers were. And if you don't watch the show tell me why, are you just not interested or does the dancing and outfits offend you?
Let me know!

P.S....Erik has a man crush on this man:

Some Prominent Mustaches

Mustaches aren't for everyone, well actually they are, but I thought I'd defend the stache a little with pictures of some highly esteemed individuals sporting their upper-lip-amigo:

Dr. Phil

Mr. Burt Reynolds

Ron Burgandy

The Beatles

Tom Selleck

Jude Law

Johhny D.

That stoner guy from Twilight

Orlando Bloom

And finally...

Mr. Bradley Pitt

I rest my case.
